Q&A
Building
The Q&A Building at the centre of Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall forms a cornerstone precinct for the city’s major meeting place.
The once underutilised area of the Mall now has a street based life, with retail tenancies, food and beverage offerings and commercial tower above revitalising the precinct. A colourful, interlocking façade wraps the building, while a drape of laser cut fins applied to the commercial tower acts as a city installation that offers shading for the internal office spaces.
Double storey arrival points form the entry and lead into the newly created urban laneway connecting Queen and Elizabeth Streets. The precinct creating a striking impression for the CBD’s retail heart and delivers a vibrant place for people to connect.
The development acknowledges the site’s history. However, it is in terms of the future that the project speaks loudest. Upon completion, all office space in the tower had been leased. Similarly, all retail space is occupied and open for business. Arkhefield and ARM have taken a prime inner-city location and maximised its potential.
