Circa
Nundah
Circa CT1 is located in the centre of Nundah Village on Brisbane’s northside was the first stage completed as part of Arkhefield’s Circa Nundah Village Master Plan.
The eight story commercial tower part of the wider revitalisation of central Nundah combining commercial, retail and residential within an integrated public realm to create a vibrant new precinct for the community.
The ground level podium—comprising retail outlets, cafes and a gym—defines and articulates the building frontages with the adjacent streets and plazas. It brings a dynamic mix of spaces, places, facilities and people to Nundah, transforming and activating the local area.
With Energex as the master tenant, the project included a fully integrated interior fitout for their Northern Metropolitan Office workplace.
Environmentally sustainable design was a guiding principle for the development, with the building achieving a Five Star Green Star rating. Sequences of horizontal and vertical panels and louvres provide sun shading, while blending the development with the local built environment.
The design responds to the subtropical climate, the surrounding low-rise built environment, and is one of Brisbane’s first transit oriented developments (TOD).
Architecture has always been about people, but in earlier decades it often seemed the human factor was relegated to a low priority when it came to commercial buildings. All that is changing rapidly, as architects, local councils and developers take a more holistic approach to new developments. The new Circa CT1 reflects this changing focus.
